Denver Broncos 2009 Playoff Scenarios
boy 'em I looking forward to preseason already..
and Philly fans, if Dawkins does sign in Denver, dont come crying and whining. your own QB doesnt want a contract extension because Andy Reid is an incompetant who cant win the big one. then again your QB cant either.
It is for sure. CBS4 has reported it. It is done.
Sign Canty and Lewis and let's call it a night.
rip eagles
I'm so happy about this. I say bust ass now to get Ray Lewis. And than DE, NT, and CB in terms of best available with the first 3 picks and we're set imo. Guys like Dawkins and Lewis bring invaluable leadership and demand the best out of their teammates every play. Guy's like Bart Scott went undrafted to probowl do to influences from guys like them. Do it Broncos.
And guys, if we sign Ray Lewis, PLEASE stop with the Malauga talk...PLEASE.
we should have kept Lynch longer! :( him and Brian...just imagine!
dawkins could be awesome... we need a good MLB too, like the Brown guy
i got my info from the Denver Post

Julius Peppers was franchised 2 weeks ago.
I just listened to Donovan McNabb comment on Dawkins- if the Broncos don't strike a deal with him before he leaves town, I have to believe he'll stay in Philly. Sounds like the Philly fans (a few that I've seen on here) really love the guy.
Speaking of good sources- I've seen a few of you mention some pro football websites that give some great info. Can someone put their favorite 2 or 3 on a post so I have a few new websites to go to while I'm at work? I mean, while I'm enjoying down time at home?

YES!!!!!!!!!!!
no disrespect but Mike Florio posted that. Florio is an idiot who always jumps the gun on football reportings and is a known Broncohater. hates Shanahan too. he runs Profootballtalk.com. so take what he says with a grain of salt. Florio is a putz to say the least.

He's a great leader that demands respect, and will make any rookie we draft work that much harder, which I love. I know he's slower now and gets beat over the top more often that we'd all like, but he's a great tackler, that helps against the run immensly. He also is great at forcing fumbles. Who's the last guy we had that forces any type of turnovers at the saftey position? I'm pumped, its a great stop game at saftey for 2 years(hopefully) and we can draft a saftey this year or next to be mentored by Dawkins.
We have so many holes to fill, and with the signing of Dawkins, it allows us to push aside saftey til next years draft if we don't see "that guy", and use our picks to fill out the front 7.

The average age of a bronco player is around 25. Geriatric? I don't think so. Inexperienced is more like it.
Dawkins signs five-year deal with Broncos

Denver signs free agent safety Brian Dawkins to a five-year, $17 million deal that includes $7.2 million guaranteed. The contract also has escalators that could boost the value of the deal to $27 million over five years, but the deal also could be voided to two years, $9 million.
